Background :
The Korean Women Entrepreneurs Association has teamed up with Hanwha General Insurance to build up the country’s femtech industry and back women-owned corporations.
The association signed a memorandum of understanding with the insurer at its headquarters in Yeouido, Seoul, to boost the women’s economy and expand the femtech sector.
Chair Park Chang-suk took part on behalf of the association, and CEO Na Chae-beom brought Hanwha General Insurance’s delegation, with senior figures from each side present.
Under the agreement, the two sides aim to expand the growth base of women-owned corporations and deepen cooperation to strengthen competitiveness and build a stronger femtech ecosystem.
The association and the insurer will work together to identify and nurture domestic femtech companies with strong growth potential and help them enter overseas markets.
The partnership also includes plans to build financial programs that create a stable management environment for women entrepreneurs. Both organizations will develop and sell insurance products tailored to women customers, while raising funds to energize the femtech industry.
Beyond financial support, the collaboration will expand education and networking programs designed to sharpen the capabilities of women entrepreneurs. The two sides will also work jointly on wellness initiatives aimed at improving women’s health and quality of life.
Park described the partnership with Hanwha General Insurance, home to the women’s health research body Lifeplus Femtech Research Institute, as a launchpad for domestic femtech firms to advance further.
She added that the association would work to help femtech startups with strong technological capabilities gain global competitiveness and lead growth across the women’s economic ecosystem.
