Background:

Biologica, a women’s health startup, has raised $7 million in seed funding. The round was led by Addition and included investors like Hawktail, Greycroft, True Beauty Ventures, Good Friends, Gabrielle Bernstein, and Katherine Schwarzenegger Pratt.

The company makes daily supplements for women at different life stages, including reproductive years, perimenopause, and postmenopause.

Biologica was founded by Liz Zwillinger, a former attorney, and Joey Zwillinger, co-founder of Allbirds, to provide practical support for women dealing with hormonal changes. The company’s products include Primary Essentials for reproductive health, Midlife Essentials for perimenopause, and Postmenopause Essentials for postmenopausal well-being.

Liz Zwillinger said that the hardest part was not having an easy way to manage her hormonal symptoms. She noticed that many other women faced the same challenges, so she created Biologica to offer support for women at every stage of life.

The supplements contain proven ingredients such as probiotics, B vitamins, and electrolytes to help with mood, energy, digestion, thinking, and overall well-being. The products are sugar-free effervescent beverages, sold in recyclable tins featuring Greco/Roman-inspired designs representing each hormonal stage.

Investor Katherine Schwarzenegger Pratt said that it’s often hard to find supplements that support women at different stages of their hormonal cycle, and she admired Biologica’s approach. Biologica solves that problem beautifully.

Biologica’s supplements can be bought online at biologica.com for $70 per tin, or $59 per month with a subscription.
