Hyundai Motor India Ltd said on Monday it aims to raise women’s representation in its executive workforce to 20 percent by 2030, as part of a push to build a diverse and future-ready talent base.

Women currently make up more than 8 percent of the company’s total executive workforce of over 4,000 employees, Hyundai Motor India said in a statement. At the same time, about 45 percent of young talent hired in 2026, including management and engineer trainees, are women, pointing to a shift in recruitment trends.

Tarun Garg, MD and CEO of Hyundai Motor India, said the 20 percent target reflects the company’s focus on expanding opportunities, strengthening its talent pipeline, and building an environment where every employee can reach their full potential. He said the company is encouraged by growing participation of women professionals across industries and looks forward to supporting their growth in all parts of the business.

Hyundai Motor India said it has put in place a full diversity, equity and inclusion framework to attract, develop and retain talent, while supporting career growth and leadership development as part of its long-term workforce strategy.

The company said workforce diversity is becoming increasingly important as India’s automotive and mobility sectors evolve through advanced manufacturing, digital tools and changing customer needs. It added that hiring talent from varied backgrounds strengthens competitiveness and supports long-term business growth.
