Background
The Women in Business Network (WIBN) will open a Stowmarket branch with a first meeting at the Stowmarket Innovation Gateway, giving professional women a new place to connect and support one another.
The launch event runs from 12pm to 2pm and features a WIBN presentation, open networking and a buffet lunch. Tickets cost £39.50 per person.
Rachel Royal, owner of WIBN Suffolk, said she is excited to launch the group. She expects it to become a great place for women from any profession to meet like-minded people, share challenges and build a strong business community.
Royal is expanding across the region. She recently launched WIBN Newmarket at Lanwades Hall, and she said the event drew a lively crowd, with over half of attendees joining as members. The Stowmarket group will meet monthly after the launch.
Founded in 2005, WIBN is a national networking organization co-owned by Helen Fletcher and Susie Sprigg. It runs around 100 groups across the UK and helps small business owners and professional service providers build local networks. Fletcher said the area has many inspiring businesswomen and she looks forward to seeing the network grow here. WIBN helps businesswomen find new opportunities by building supportive professional relationships.
Stowmarket Innovation Gateway will host the meetings. Built at a cost of £18.8 million, the skills and innovation hub gives tenants offices, co-working areas, meeting rooms and 10-gigabit internet, all a short drive from the town center. WIBN also runs groups in Bury St Edmunds and Woodbridge.
