Background

The Women Business Collaborative (WBC) will host the Women’s Capital Summit in New York City on October 6–7, bringing women entrepreneurs, investors and business leaders together to strengthen access to capital.

The two-day event will focus on helping women founders build relationships with investors, secure funding and find new opportunities for business growth. The organisers expect about 150 investors and 150 women entrepreneurs to attend.

The summit will also bring together corporate leaders, athletes, philanthropists and other influential women. Discussions will cover investment readiness, ownership, venture debt, private credit, consumer brands, healthcare, sports and women’s wealth.

Among the featured speakers is Merrilee Kick, founder and CEO of BuzzBallz. The programme will also include founders, investors and business operators with experience in building high-growth companies and completing major exits.

Panel sessions will examine how women can turn influence and professional networks into ownership, how founders and investors can build stronger relationships, and how businesses can access funding beyond traditional venture capital.

A session on women’s sports will explore the growing business opportunities for founders, investors and athletes, while another will look at alternative funding routes such as revenue-based financing, corporate partnerships and philanthropy.

WBC CEO Gwen Young said the summit aims to move beyond discussions about the gender capital gap and create practical connections that can lead to investment and ownership.

The event will target women founders raising capital, investors seeking opportunities and women interested in becoming angel investors, fund investors, owners or strategic partners.
